To achieve this, collectively Australian producers need to grow produce of the highest quality, supported
by the world’s best quality assurance and supply chain management practices. Growers need to work
together to access all markets internationally to spread risk and increase the awareness of Australia’s
high quality produce in Asian markets.
James Terry is the owner and sole Director of Cloud Produce Pty Ltd. James is a fourth generation producer from Northern Tasmania, growing up on a mixed cropping and livestock farm. James is now based in Melbourne with an asparagus farm near Garfield, Victoria.
James is qualified with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, graduating with first class Honours from the University of Sydney in 2007. During his time at university, James gained experience working on a range of cattle, sheep, grain, cotton and horticultural properties.
James began his professional career as an agronomist in Koo Wee Rup, Victoria and for the past eight years, James was the Export and Operations manager for a large grower and exporter of vegetables in Victoria.
In addition to this, James has been involved with the following:
Nuﬃeld Farming Scholarship 2015. Investigating the economic sustainability of vegetable farming, studying ways to make the produce chain more eﬃcient and sustainable, looking at areas such as growing techniques, soil science, supply chain eﬃciencies, use of improved technology, value-adding and marketing.
Current Victorian Farmers’ Federation Horticulture Group Vice President.
Australian Asparagus Council President 2015 – 2017.
Horticulture Innovation Australia (HIA) export development of vegetable committees.
Australian Horticultural Export and Import Association director 2015 – 2017.
Victorian Young Farmers’ Ministerial Advisory Committee (YFMAC) 2016 and 2017.
James has experience in these areas:

End to end supply chain logistics for domestic and export markets. Including road, rail, sea and air freight.
